Gravesite

We stumbled upon this grave site North of Gardiner, Montana, just outside Yellowstone National Park. This one reads: "Parker Child Rest In Peace." Another headstone adjacent reads: Parker Mother Rest In Peace." The site is very old with no trails leading to it, but it is fenced off and someone has tended to the area in the last few years.

Jumping Lamb

Mother bighorn sheep looks back for her lamb and they descend a steep, rocky cliff. The ewe and lamb both had to jump down the last 5-6 foot section, as we see the lamb in the air. These surefooted climbers were seen from the top of Mount Washburn in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. They are part a large herd of nearly 25 ewes and lambs.

Bison in Burnt Forest

Learning to Hunt

This juvenile Great Horned Owl hunted down a squirrel and brought it back up to a tree to enjoy a meal. The owl and his family live in the trees near Mammoth Falls in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.

Bison in Lamar Valley

Small Alpine Forget-Me-Not flowers in front of a vast expanse of mountains, home to the Bear's Tooth (on the horizon right of center) for which the range and highway is named. The Beartooth Highway runs between Cooke and Red Lodge, Montana.

Stump Island

This old rotted tree stump has become a host 'island' to several grasses, a bush, and even another tree out in Trout Lake in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.

Sunrise on Electric Peak

The first light of day breaks through the clouds, creating some intersting light on Electric Peak over Gardner, Montana. Gardner sits just outside the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park and houses the Roosevelt Arch entry way.

Bear Cub Waving at Camera

Three bear cubs outside the Roosevelt Lodge in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The two had been wrestling until one of them turns away, no longer interested. The other is left looking puzzled with his paw up, appearing to be waving or waiting for a 'High Five'.
