Tufted Puffin with fish in its beak
This Tufted Puffin (Fratercula cirrhata) aka Crested Puffin, just surfaced with a fresh catch in its beak. The small birds are great swimmers and dive for fish, but have a difficult time flying, especially taking off from the water. Puffins will spend most of their lives at sea, and only come to shore to nest and give birth.
